SINOPSIS
Hijo ilegítimo de una pobre mujer que se vió obligada a abandonarlo, poco después de nacer, Tom Jones (Albert Finney) fue criado con indulgente cariño por el señor Allworthy, el propietario de la mayor hacienda de la comarca. Creció feliz, haciendo realidad todos sus deseos... hasta que, al llegar a la edad adulta, se enamoró de Sophie Western (Susannah York) -su encantadora vecina-, y el celoso sobrino y heredero de su benefactor decidió poner fin a su estancia en la hacienda familiar.
